Real Lives Family Week 2025
1st - 6th July 2025

During each of the six evenings our guest speaker Roger Carswell will be interviewing special guests from many different backgrounds, finding out about their faith in Jesus.  He will also be explaining the relevance of the Christian faith today.  A free, light supper will be served each evening.

From seeming to levitate a member of the audience to sawing himself in half, illusionist Todd Alexander's show will certainly amaze and amuse!  Todd aims to present the reality of the Christian message through the stage art of illusion.

Claire is the associate Dean for Research and Innovation in the School of Design and Creative Arts, and Professor of Performance and Physical Culture at Loughborough University.  She frequently appears on TV, radio, and podcasts.  She also co-hosted the first parliamentary event on professional wrestling in the UK. 

She nearly died from a medical condition - her fiancé arrived to find her unconscious  on the floor and saved her life. 

Come and hear how Jesus changed her life.

Major General Tim Cross

Major General Tim Cross CBE was commissioned into the British Army in 1971.  He commanded at every level, from leading a small Bomb Disposal Team in N Ireland in the 1970's to commanding a Division of 30,000, retiring in 2007.  He became a Christian while on leave from a posting to Cyprus in 1981.  He visited Jerusalem over the Easter weekend and was pointed to Jesus by a retired British Army Officer he met there.

Rose Illingsworth

Rose loves to sing, especially jazz and classical numbers. 

She spent her early years living in Africa and soon had to face up to the reality that family members had been killed during the Rwandan Genocide in 1994.

Come and hear how Jesus Christ makes all the difference in Rose's life and hear her sing as well.

Dennis Bailey

Ex-professional footballer Dennis Bailey is one of only two men to score a hat-trick for the opposing team and remain on the winning side at Old Trafford (the other is Mohamed Salah). 

When he joined Crystal Palace Steve Coppell told him, "I know you are a Christian but I don't want you Bible-bashing my players!"

He now works with kids in the Midlands.

Professor Colin Garner

Colin is a man of many talents.  He grew up playing with go-carts and he and his friends used to ride his father's moped around when they were very young!  He pursued a career in science and engineering and entered the world of academia.  Much of his research has been in improving vehicle emissions and the development of electric vehicles and machines - yet he still enjoys a day at the racetrack racing his cars!  Join Roger Carswell in conversation as he talks about his love of cars, his passion for science and engineering, and his confident trust in Jesus Christ.

Guest Speaker: Roger Carswell

Roger Carswell is well known to many people at Glencroft.  He has been involved in many guest events since 2001.  He has worked extensively in the UK as well as many other countries around the world.  He is married to Dot and they have four children and ten grandchildren.  He will be interviewing our special guests and explaining the relevance of the Christian faith today.

Location

All events to take place outside at the back of Arnesby Baptist Church.  There is a "barn" shelter with heaters and a marquee shelter.

Children's Programme

As part of each evening there will be a special children's programme running along side the main meeting.  At an appropriate time the children will leave and be looked after by our youth team.

A creche will be available each evening.

In the event of bad weather we will hold the event inside.  Check this website on the day for location updates.
